The Hamilton Firefighters raise and donate approximately $100,000 through various initiatives annually. In the past 10 years, they have disbursed more than $1 Million dollars to support the local community.

These funds have or continue to support the Burn Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital, the Jurvanski Cancer Center, an inner-city breakfast program for school children, Ronald MacDonald House, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple sclerosis Society, various women shelters, Camp Bucko Camp Maple Leaf, Bob Kemp Hospice, organizations assisting those with handicaps, as well as supporting individuals with various personnel and health difficulties.

The Firefighters also have a separate Benevolent Fund (Funded by firefighters themselves) that supports firefighters and their families in times of difficulty and need.

Although perhaps best known for the Hamilton Hottest Calendar, the firefighters undertake a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year including: Hot night in the City (900 ladies for two nights) fashion show, The firefighters Jingle ball event (this year was a magic show), Great Balls of Fire Golf Tournament, and Heat up the trail (walk, run, do the stairs) event, to name a few.
